Coming Back to Yourself — Informed Consent & Privacy Notice
Part 1: Informed Consent for Group Therapy
About the group
"Coming Back to Yourself" is a 6-session virtual therapy group for women, offered by Vegas Valley Comprehensive Counseling, LLC (VVCC). Sessions are 90 minutes, held weekly from 11/4/26 to 12/16/26 (no meeting 11/25/26), and led by Andrea Harmon and Emi Olmeztoprak.
This is a process oriented group. VVCC keeps a record of your participation.
What Brainspotting is:
Brainspotting is a brain-body therapy. It uses eye position, focused attention, and bilateral sound to help the nervous system process stress, painful experiences, and emotional patterns. In this group, you process privately, guided by the facilitator. You do not have to describe your experiences out loud, and you share only what you choose.
Possible benefits
- Less stress and emotional overwhelm
- More awareness of body sensations and emotional patterns
- Greater self-compassion and connection with others who relate to your experience
Results vary from person to person, and no specific outcome is guaranteed.
Possible risks
- Strong emotions, memories, or body sensations during or after sessions
- Feeling tired, raw, or unsettled for a day or two afterward
- Temporary increases in distress before improvement
- Discomfort from hearing other members' experiences
You can stay in your resource spot instead of processing at any time. Tell the facilitator if a session leaves you feeling unsafe or overwhelmed and you need additional support.
Telehealth
- Sessions take place on Zoom, which VVCC uses under a Business Associate Agreement.
- You must be physically located in Nevada for every session.
- Join from a quiet private space where you won't have distractions or disruptions
- Plan to have your camera on
- If the connection drops, try to rejoin. If you can't rejoin within 10 minutes, please text us at 702-483-8260
Group confidentiality
VVCC staff keep what you share confidential, within the legal limits below. Other group members are asked to do the same, but VVCC cannot guarantee that every member will. By joining, you agree to:
- Not share the names, identities, or stories of other members outside the group
- Not record, screenshot, or photograph any part of a session
- Not allow anyone else to see or hear the session
